For wind power system, due to its special operating geography location, height, highly integrated by a large quantity of sensitive electronic, electrical components/ expensive cost, surge protection is strongly required.     In accordance to IEC 62305 and IEC 61400-24, below should be considered when categorizing surge protection zones and selecting/installing the SPD:

         4. Voltage and standard of power supply (230/400 V; 400/690 V; TT/TN system);
